If you have the dream of joining NDA

Start early?
How early

Class IX is the best time

this is because by now you would have decided which stream (Arts / Science) you are interested.
If you want to join THE NDA, then you must take up Science Subject.
for even if you select Army wing, and try to study BA in NDA, you will have to take Maths, Phy, Chem along with other subjects.

Maths is one hell of a paper- 300 marks.

for a non science students, it is really tough.

Now start collecting all the old nda papers. 
you can down load it from


start with English and GK. this has 600 marks.
Build up you vocabulary.
Read as many English novels as you can.
this will help you to improve your english.

Now start a scarp book, cut and paste and make a neat file, go through it once a week. You will be surprised that you will know a lot by the time you are in class XI

In class X start solving the NDA Maths paper
do not worry do what ever you can. you will be able to do 40% of the paper
in class XI, concentrate on Phy and Chem part . 
by now you are ready to face the NDA

fill in the forms while you are still in Class XI, take a shot 
 for practice.
As you move to  classs XII,
you must apply for NDA and take the exam in Sep/ October

Once you have done well
start with your SSB Interview coaching
Many get screened out so
go to an academy that has all the three selectors
