On 27-11-2014 announced 1000 Vacancy posts in the Fire Services to be filled
with in 3 months -
IPS ADGP / Director, Fire & Rescue Services of Tamilnadu informed . The
director has informed the news persons at Madurai that the vacancies will be
filled up by TNUSRB . So we can expect the official notification from TNUSRB
soon.

03-11-2014 : More than 5.5 lakh total vacancies available all over India in
the State Government Police Departments.
The Union Home Ministry has asked
all the state governments to fill the vacancies with in a year.
According to
reports, as on 01-01-2013, there are 20,670 total vacancies in our Tamilnadu
Police.

Education Qulification for SI Selection ?
Candidates should have a degree from a recognised university.
Age Limit:
BC/MBC: 20 to 28 years
Ex-servicemen : Within 3 years from the date of discharge subject to a maximum of 45 years
Destitute Widow : 35 years, belonging to OC/BC/MBC/DNC/SC/ST.
Selection Procedure for Tamilnadu Sub-Inspector:-
There are three stages in Sub Inspector Selection or SI Selection of Tamilnadu.
I. Written Test
SI Selection Written Exam Syllabus for General Knowledge and Psychology
General Knowledge - 80 marks
Psychology Test - 60 marks
II.Physical Measurement Test
General Candidates
Minimum 170cms.(Men) -- Minimum 159 cms.(Women)
SC/ST
Minimum 167cms.(Men) -- Minimum 157cms.
Chest : 81 cms when Unexpanded and 86 cms when expanded
Endurance Test
Running 1500 Mtrs in 7 minutes.
NOTE: ONLY Successful
candidates have to undergo Physical Efficiency Test.

3 events with a minimum qualifying marks of 6 {1
star in each event} and a maximum of 15 marks allotted.

2*=5 marks
