1. Applications are invited for admission to Class VI and Class IX through All India Sainik School Entrance Examination to be held on 04 Jan 2015 (Sunday)
2. AIM: To prepare the boys academically, physically and mentally for entry into the National Defence Academy(NDA), Khadakwasla, Pune.
3. AGE LIMITS:
(a) For Admission to class VI: Born between 02 Jul 2004 and 01 Jul 2005 (both days inclusive)
(b) For admission to class IX: Born between 02 Jul 2001 and 01 Jul 2002 (both days inclusive) and should be studying in class VIII in a recognised school.
4. CURRICULUM: 10 + 2 science stream CBSE
5. EXAMINATION CENTRES: The following Centres subject to a minimum number of 20 candidates applying per centre. (a) Kozhikode (b) Ernakulam (c) Kottayam (d) Wayanad (e) Thiruvananthapuram (Sainik School Kazhakootam) and (f) Kavaratti in Lakshadweep.
6. TOTAL NUMBER OF VACANCIES (Approximate):
Class VI : 85 to 90 and
Class IX : 05 to 10.
May change based on actual availability of vacancies at the time of admission.
7. ADMISSION: The admissions will be made strictly in accordance with the merit in the Entrance Examination, Interview and Medical fitness of candidates. The school has not deputed any individual/Institution for admission related coaching /training.
8. CATEGORY WISE RESERVATION OF SEATS: 15 % for SC and 7.5% for ST, 25% for Defence category (Serving and Ex-service Personnel).
9. SCHOLARSHIPS: Different types of Scholarships are given by Central/State Governments depending upon the Parents’ monthly income. Details are available in the Prospectus.
10. PROSPECTUS & APPLICATION FORM: Prospectus, Application form and previous year question papers can be obtained from the Principal, Sainik School Kazhakootam, Sainik School PO, Trivandrum 695 585 from 15 Oct 2014 through a Demand Draft payable at Trivandrum drawn in favour of “Principal, Sainik School Kazhakootam” along with a request letter. Address with Telephone No., Category(Gen/Def/SC/ST), Domicile and the class applied for and Date of Birth should be clearly mentioned in the request letter. On receipt of request letter and draft the Prospectus along with application form & model Question paper will be sent by Registered post. The application form can also be purchase directly from the school office or downloaded from the school website ‘www.sainikschooltvm.nic.in’ from 15 Oct 2014. Application forms downloaded from the website are to be submitted duly filled to this office along with registration fee. On receipt of filled application forms, Prospectus and Model question papers will be dispatched to the applicant.
