The candidates are called one by one into the Interviewing hall and would be asked sit in the candidate's seat and will be asked to answer a few simple questions
Normally there would be three officers who would be conducting the interview However, only one officer would be asking the questions to the candidate
Normally the interview would last for 10 minutes.
Some General questions about the places he visited when he had come for the written test. Which place he liked and what he did at that place/ what did he see ?
Mostly the questions would be asked in English, this is to see if the candidate is able to understand and speak in English
If not he can answer the questions in Hindi or even his mother tongue
The General questions such as
Name and the school in which the candidate is presently studying
Name of his parents and about their present job
If the father or mother is in the services, their rank, regiment and how long they have been working and places they were / are posted.
Likes and dislikes of the candidate
About the games he plays and his interest
About his achievements in the school/class
A few questions about the current affairs
As to why he wants to join the RMS / Sainik School
Is any of his brothers and friends studying in RMS/ SainiK school- If yes class/ name of school
How did he come to know about the school
Did he ever visited the school earlier?
Where did you take the written test for this school?
Did you visit any place after the written test?
Which place you liked most and why?
In which defence force would you like to join and why?
As you entered into this school are did you see any tank or aircraft, what tank/ air craft was it?
Some of the current events and GK questions that were asked asked in the previous years admission testQ.1 Who is the Prime Minister of India?
Q.2. Who is the defence minister of India?
Q.3. Who is the Chief of the Army Staff?
Q.4. Who is the chief of the Indian Air Force?
Q.5. Who is the Chief of Indian Navy ?
Q.6.Tell us the name of any two fighter aircrafts?
Q.7. Who is the Present Indian Cricket Team Captain?
Q.8. Which Cricketer has been awarded Bharat Ratna?
Q.9. Where is National Defence Academy is located?
Q.10. Recently India sent a space craft to Mars, Do you know its name?
Q.11. Name the Air Craft carrier that was recently bought by India from Russia?
Depending upon the game that the candidate had answered, he might be asked to name one to two players who are at national level
In short you may prepare about 25 odd questions and ask the candidate to write the answer.
He should be able to answer the questions with out any inhibition or fear. It should not appear as if he had memorized questions and their answers. It should be natural
