Defence News:

1.    21 Nov 2016 is a very historic day as the Kolkata Class Destroyer INS Chennai was finally commissioned into the Indian Navy




2. The ambitious project of Tejas, which is also known as LCA i.e. Light Combat Aircraft, As per the plan, the Kaveri engine will be installed in Tejas prototype in 2018 and its flight testing will be scheduled in 2020.


3.Some basic specifications of Tejas are
  • Speed – 1.6-1.8 Mach
  • Range – 3000 kms
  • Ceiling – 16 kms
  • Pilot crew – 1
  • Single Engine Aircraft
4. UAV, Unnamed Arial Vehicle
It mainly has two versions Rustom 1 and Rustom -2. Both are manufactured by DRDO aimed for usage in the Armed forces of India. Rustom 2 is the improved version of Rustom 1. Rustom 1 has flown endurance of 12 hours while Rustom 2 has 24 hours of flying endurance. The speed of the old version is about 150 kmph while that of the new version is + 200 kmph.

5.The gun is 155mm 39 Caliber gun. India has ordered 145 such guns. The deal was to acquire M-777A2, which is an updated version of M-777A1.
