General Guidelines on Tackling SSB / FSB



 1. Start your preparation Early

What is this , Knowing about the defence forces and its life style, whether you will fit in or otherwise is the first step.

Start with Physical Test:
Here I mean - Physical standard set up by the medical board.

 EYE Power. Except for Flying Branch, for others you can be considered upto -3. correctable up to 6/6.

If you have power ( ie vision is not perfect) then it would be difficult for you to make it through IAF
or NaVY OR COAST GUARD AVIATION BRANCH

Update your Current affairs. Read-  Read and assimilate as much as you can.

Reading books and acquiring knowledge is yet another area where you need to concentrate

Take active part in group discussions and group activities.

If you have a hobby brush up your knowledge. You should learn as much as possible from books, internet and practical application.

Do not be vague.

Say , when asked what is your hobby?
If you say , My hobby is gardening.
Then you should be prepared to rattle out the names of 10 odd flowering plants on Winter / Summer season.

Let us see what are the winter flowers?

Acashia, Alstromeria, Amaryllis, Carnation, Chrysanthemums, Cyclamen, Evergreens, Gerbera Daisy, Ginger, Helleborus, Holly berry, Lily, Asiatic Lily, Casa Blanca Lily, Narcissus, Orchid, Pansy, Pepperberry, Phlox, Protea, Queen Ann's Lace, Roses, Star of Bethlehem, Statice.

 So , it sounds Latin and Greek?

 The catch is until and unless you know what it is then it is better not to say your hobby is gardening.

 you may get got,
If you want to say it then have some practical knowledge about when to plant, what are the precautions you should take to see that the plant grows well and blooms at the right time.
