Dear aspirants

For the first time in my life I stepped out of Tamil Nadu and moved to Bhopal to face the Naval Services Selection Board Interview.

As I am the first person in my entire family history to opt for Defence Services, through 10 +2 Tech entry.

I was escorted to SSB Bhopal by my Father.
( He never allowed me to travel alone !!!! a Big mistake, I lost my experience to travel alone out side Tamil nadu)

I reached the Bhopal MCO office at about 5 a.m.
The slight chillness gave me a COLD welcome, as I could not see any one waiting to receive me.

Around 6.15 one by one aspirants started assembling in front of MCO office

By 7.00 we 138 were put into various Army vehicles and drove off to SSB Bhopal.

Screening in: 
some verbal and non verbal 
later a PPDT
at the end of 3 hour testing only 21 of us made it to stage - II

The only preparation I did was to go through a book bought at Railway station before my journey at CHENNAI.

Psych Test followed by GTO and In Between a Personal interview.   

Psych test was fun  I did my best  could not complete WAT and SRT about 30 to 35 each was my best count.
What ever came to my mind I wrote in TAT

GTO: a new experience, initially I did not have any clue.
as the task went from 1 to 2, I became very active in task 3. We did not move to task 4 time up.

Indl Obstacles:
I could do only 7 with in the time allotted.

well I really enjoyed my Interview with the President of the board ( Only later at Conference I saw him in Uniform)

He asked me how did i like the tests.
I said it was fun and learning in my life.
He asked me if you cannot make it this time what will I do.
I told him
Sir,
I will join my college NCC get trained well and face the board during the final year of my college.
For now if Not Recommended ENJOY the COLLEGE Life.

Well folks the final CONFERENCE was Over, after lunch, we waited in the assembly hall for the result . only after putting all our belongings in the Transport that was just outside the cadet's mess.

A big surprise!!!
Only one officer had come into the hall, he told us about
why some of the best (VIPS now) could not make it in SSB. and wished us all the LUCK in the world.
He thanked every one for a GOOD behaviour.

He came and announced as follows Now I am going to announce the result. Only the number which I am going to call out will stand up and all others be seated. As I leave this hall you are all free to board your bus and we will see you off at the Railway station.

We were chest no 1 to 21.

He called out:
Are you all ready to know the result???

We said S --- Sir.
 I had no doubt in my  mind that my number would not be called.

He said gentleman Only one number will be called out. If that person with the Chest number is seated amongst you then get up. If not no one I repeat No other number will get up.

Well it was a really a good built up.
Some candidates were restless
especially the ones who were repeaters.
He said  CHEST NO 22.
There was absolute silence.
As there was no chest no 22 almost every one turned behind to see who it could be.

A tense moment. Then the Officer told us
Sorry gentlemen NONE OF YOU MADE IT.
Immediately he left the hall.
One JCO was there to escort all the unfortunate  Aspirants back to Railway station.

As we got in to the only Army Coach one of our play back singer started singing  the old Hindi Number

I will never forget that cadet Narender singh
who was full of JOSH even after his third Rejection.
