Indian Army Soldiers General Duty (NER) Exam
As we know that a career in Indian Army
is considered as a very prestigious job in the Indian society. For
recruitment to the second largest standing army in the world, the Indian
Army conducts Soldier General Duty (NER) Recruitment Examination
for the post of Soldier General Duty (GD) in the army. An applicant’s
recruited through the Indian Army Soldiers General Duty (NER) Exam can
become a Commissioned Officer subject to certain conditions. Indian Army
Soldiers General Duty Exam is conducted four times in a year for
recruiting personnel to the Indian Army as Sepoy/Soldier. The short
listed applicants are imparted the required training to become fully
capable of dedicating themselves to the honourable task of serving their
country on various fronts throughout their carrier.
Educational Qualification:-
Aspiring applicants who have passed the
Matriculation / equivalent examination preferably with Science and
English as the main are eligible to apply for the Indian Army Soldiers
General Duty exam.
Age:-
Male applicants belonging to the age group of 16 to 21 years are eligible for the Indian Army Soldiers General Duty (NER) exam.
Nationality:
An applicant must either be:
A. resident of India, or
B. subject of Bhutan, or
C. subject of Nepal, or
D. Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the purpose of permanently settling in India, or
E .A people of Indian origin who has
migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of
Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire
and Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in
India.
Provided that an applicant’s belonging
to categories B, C, D and E above shall be a person in whose favour a
certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
Certificate of eligibility will not, however, be necessary in the case of applicants who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.
Note:-
Unmarried Indian male citizens are eligible for the Indian Army Soldiers General Duty (NER) exam.
Physical Standards for Indian Army Soldiers General Duty (NER) Exam:
1. Minimum Height of the applicants must be 167 cm, which can be relaxed for applicants belonging to certain regions.
2. Chest Measurement: On expansion, the
applicant’s chest measurement should not be less than 77 cm with minimum
range of expansion of 5 cm.
3. Minimum Weight of the applicants must be 50 kilograms, which can be relaxed for those who are belonging to certain regions.
4. General Health: The applicants must
be free of all communicable diseases and cardiovascular, medical or
surgical deformities or infection.
Indian Army Soldiers General Duty NER Exam Application Procedure
The applications for the said exam are
invited through different modes. Interested applicants may collect blank
application forms that are available, free of cost, at local
Recruitment Offices, District Collector's Office, Zila Parishads and
Employment Exchanges. However aspiring applicants can send their
applications on plain paper, handwritten / typed but that are as per the

Indian Army Soldiers General Duty (NER) Exam consists of questions from
1. General Knowledge. In Preliminary exam
2. Physics, Chemistry and Biology in mains exam
3. General Intelligence and
4. Mathematical Aptitude Questions in
these tests will be Objective Type and bilingual, i.e. in Hindi and
English. Time only those found fit will be put through aptitude test and

into three sections:
General Intelligence, Mathematical
Aptitude and General Knowledge. Questions in these tests will be of

successful applicants will be put through the aptitude test and
