A boat travels upstream from B to A
and downstream from A to B in 3 hours. If the speed of the boat in still water
is 9 Km/h and the speed of the current is 3 Km/h, the distance between A and B
is

Step 1: what is given:-
Speed of the boat in still water = 9 km/hr
Speed of the current = 3 km/h,
Step 2: To find what?
To find the distance ( A to B)
Step 3: Working:-
Speed downstream = 9+3 = 12 km/hr
Speed upstream = 9-3 = 6 km/hr
Let the distance between A and B be x.
Speed of the boat in still water = 9 km/hr
Speed of the current = 3 km/h,
Step 2: To find what?
To find the distance ( A to B)
Step 3: Working:-
Speed downstream = 9+3 = 12 km/hr
Speed upstream = 9-3 = 6 km/hr
Let the distance between A and B be x.
Then: {x}{6}+\{x}{12}=3
x+2x=36
3x=36
x=12
Step 4: Answer
x+2x=36
3x=36
x=12
Step 4: Answer
Hence the Distance is 12 km answer
