Self-questionnaire to analyze one’s Mental Preparedness
So, you want to join the Defence Forces?

Before you say yes take a print out and answer the following questions. In the end if you have more than 60% Yes then go ahead if not it is better to join some civil job and live a contended life.


Here we go.

School level:

1.   Have you taken Science as a subject and scored well?               Yes -   No

2.   Have you stayed and Studied in a Hostel?                                 Yes -   No

3.   Have you been a member of NCC?                                           Yes -   No

4.   Have you ever been to a Defence Unit, just to see what it is?     Yes -   No

5.   Have you ever dreamt about uniformed service as your career   Yes -   No

6.   Have you seen NDA/OTA/ IMA motivational Movie and Loved it? Yes -   No




After you left the school:

7.    Have you appeared for NDA Examination?                               Yes -   No

8.    Did you qualify in the written and attend the SSB?                   Yes -  No

9.    If you had attempted and failed did you try again?                   Yes -  No

10. Did you apply for 10 + 2 Tech entry for Army / Navy                Yes -  No

11.         Have you joined NCC in college?                                         Yes -  No

12.         Did you try for any type of Officer Entry while in college?      Yes -  No

13.         Have you been a Captain in School/ College Sports?             Yes -  No

14.         Have you participated in college functions in responsible Post?Yes -  No

15.         Are you ready to live your home town and stay in border areas?Yes - No

16.         Are you ready to live your entire life in India?                      Yes– No

17.         Would you be satisfied with less pay then you may deserve?      Yes-  No

18.         Are you ready to accept supersession and obey your seniors?     Yes-  No

19.         Are you ready to face more lonely and away from home life?      Yes-  No

20.         If you are not allowed to do what your heart desires yet serve?  Yes –No


If you have more than 15 Yes, then try for the defence,  if not just forget it.
