TARGET - SSB INTERVIEW- HOW TO PREPARE FOR INDIVIDUAL TASKS IN GTO TESTS?
1. What are the obstacles to be crossed in Individual obstacles in GTO Task?
There are 10 obstacles in the individual Tasks:
1. Single Ramp Jump. ( 4 feet height )
2. Long Jump - approximately 9 feet
3. Zig-Zag Balance (height 3 feet
4. Ramp and Screen Jump height three feet + 1 foot.
5. Burma Bridge. Height about 10m feet above the ground.
6. Tarzon's Swing. using a rope cross a distance of 10 - 12 feet
7. Monkey jump. Climb on a plat form of 10 feet jump down to 5 feet and then to the ground sand pit.
8. Double Ditch ( 4 feet- and 4.5 feet in depth and width
9.Commando walk .
10. Tiger's leap Height 10 feet jump and reach the rope
Time given is 3 mins.
How to tackle these obstacles?
1. First complete tll the obstacles in the stipulated 3 mins.
Go from No 10 down words to no 1.
This will give you max marks and even if you skip one or two it does not matter. You should never attempt to cross an obstacle if you are doubtful. Skip over and go to the next.
In this test your stamina, determination and planning ability is judged.
During the SSB preparation stage make it a habit to run and improve your stamina. If you can just complete the NCC obstacles which may be in our college or in your friends college that is sufficient.
Be slow between the obstacle and fast over the obstacles.
Do the obstacles in some order, rather than attempting haphazardly. Never start from obstacle 1 and then go on to 10, as this would tire you out and you may run short of time.
Observe the obstacles first and make a mental plan as to from where you can starts. do not do it in zig zag fashion but in a round fashion skipping the one that you find it difficult.
Never climb on Confidence walk and seeing the height do not come down.
EVEN if you have a slight doubt just skip it and attempt it later.
