1.       At what age can the child be given training to crack Sainik School Entrance Exam?
Answer:  From the age of Nine a child can be trained to face the exam.
2.       Can a child be asked to take examination at two different centres at different dates?
No, except for Sainik School katra where the exam is held in the month of April. All other sainik school class vi entrance takes place on the same date.

3.       What books should referred for cracking the Entrance Exam?

6.       What is better? Home coaching or Residential coaching at an institute?
It does not matter as long as the preparation is well managed.

7.       What would be the cut is off marks expected for admission?
From our experience we have seen those candidates who score more than 75% gain admission in the first merit list.

8.       If a child’s age is one day more than what is specified, can he be given admission?
NO, the Sainik School Society has fixed up a date which cannot be over ruled.

9.       Is it possible to change the Sainik School once an admission is given?
Normally No, but sometimes if two candidates are willing to shift the schools from one school to another and if he is not availing any state scholarship it is possible.

10.   Is it possible for a boy to appear for the Sainik School from any other state of his domicile and seek admission in the state where he is born?
Yes, possible, but this should be given in writing and permission for the same has to be obtained from the respective Sainik Schools at the time of filling in the application forms.

11.   Is it a must to study in recognized school before one seeks admission in Sainik School?
No, there is no need to study in any school, but a certificate to the effect that the child did not have any formal education signed by District education Officer is required to be submitted along with admission form.

12.   How the age of the candidate is calculated?
The age of the candidate for Sainik School / RMS should be less than 11 years and More than 10 Years as on 01st July of the year of admission. (For Class VI) and for Class IX it should not be more than 14 years and less than 13 years.

13.   Is it possible to visit the Sainik School/ RMS prior to seeking admission?
Yes, please talk to the Principal of the respective school and take permission before you plan to visit it.
14.   What would be the level of competition to gain admission?

For  Sainik Schools the applicants would be around 1500 to 2000 for 100 seats. And for RMS it would be 10000 for 250 seats. (These are approximate figures, it might vary from school to school)
