The AFMC is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik and is recognized by the Medical Council of India.
Admission to Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune in 2017 shall be subject to the norms prescribed by the Directorate of Armed Force medical Services, Ministry of Defence, Government of India.

The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, was established in 1948 for post graduate courses. A graduate wing for MBBS course was started in AFMC on 04th Aug 1962 with the aim of inducting medical graduates to the Armed Forces Medical Services

The AFMC is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik and is recognized by the Medical Council of India

Admission to MBBS Course 2016 at AFMC Pune will be based on the merit of All India Pre Medical/Pre Dental Examination AIPMT 2016 to be conducted by CBSE on 01st May 2016

Eligibility candidates who are interested to join AFMC Pune, to pursue the MBBS course will have to mandatory appear for the AIPMT 2016 examination to be conducted by CBSE and should have ticked n the option for AFMC and also apply online to AFMC Pune on the websites www.afmc.nic.in / www.afmc.dg1d.gov.in

The short listed candidates will be required to appear for a second stage Screening conducted by AFMC

AFMC 2016 MBBS Course Duration

The duration of MBBS course is 4 ½ years followed by compulsory rotating internship training of one year. All the medical cadets with service liability undergo internship training in selected service hospitals recognised by the Medical Council of India

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate seeking admission to the MBBS course in AFMC is eligible if he/she fulfills the following criteria

A candidate should be citizen of India

The candidate may be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan or a person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan or any other foreign country with the intention of permanently settling in India

Foreign nationals of Indian origin may be admitted into AFMC only after they have acquired Indian citizenship or in respect of whom a certificate of eligibility is issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs

AFMC 2016 MBBS Age Limit

The age of 17 years on 31st December, 2017 but must not have attained the age of 22 years on that date (must have been born not earlier than 01st January, 1996 and not later than 31st December, 2006) for 10+2 or equivalent

Must not have attained the age of 24 years (must have been born not earlier than 01st January, 1994) for passed B.Sc examination or appearing in final B.Sc examination

Academic Qualifications for Admission to AFMC 2016 MBBS Course

1. Candidate must have passed all the subjects opted for in the first attempt of the qualifying examinations as a regular candidate.
   
2. 
   Applicants must have passed the 12th class examination with at least 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together.
   
3. 
   The candidate must have scored at least 50% marks in English and 50% marks in each of the science subjects.
   
4. Candidates must have also passed an exam in Mathematics of the 10th standard.

The eligibility and the relevant documents will be checked at the time of interview at the AFMC Pune. The Armed forces medical College is the premier medical institute in India. AFMC 2017 Reservation:

10 seats out of 130 are reserved for candidates belonging to the SC/ST

In addition to the above 130 seats, Govt of India at its discretion through Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Defence may sponsor and select foreign students from friendly foreign countries for MBBS training in AFMC, under their aid/collaboration programmes

AFMC MBBS Selection Method

Eligible candidates who are interested to join AFMC Pune, to pursue the MBBS course will have to mandatorily appear for the AIPMT - 2016 examination to be conducted by CBSE and should have ticked on the option for AFMC

However, in case a candidate had failed to tick on the option for AFMC, he/she may still apply online if eligible

The AIPMT - 2017 roll number is essential for being recognized for admission to AFMC Pune and shall be required at all stages of admission process

Candidates who are appearing in the AIPMT-2017 examination will have to register and apply online to AFMC Pune on the websitehttp://www.afmc.nic.in, or http://www.afmcdg1d.gov.in with the AIPMT - 2017 roll number

On the declaration of the results, AFMC Pune will draw merit from amongst the candidates who have applied to AFMC Pune and also appeared for the AIPMT-2016 examination

It is reiterated that the qualifying marks would be 50th percentile

Candidates who have secured lesser marks/lower than 50th percentile will not be considered for admission to AFMC Pune

Candidates desirous for admission into AFMC Pune will have to register and apply online on the website www.afmcdg1d.gov.in or atwww.afmc.nic.in

To be considered for admission to AFMC Pune, the eligible candidates should have appeared in AIPMT-2016 and also applied online to AFMC Pune

AFMC 2017 Application Fee Payment

a) Visit the nearest State Bank of India Bank branch on the next day i.e. one day after generation of challan or any day till the last day of payment at bank.(Example: If you have have generated your challan from the website on 30th April 2017, you can visit your nearest SBI bank branch on 01st May 2016 or any day till last day of payment, to make the payment of Rs.250/- (Application + Bank charges).

The last date for submission of online application is 17th May 2017 and the last date for generation of challan from your login account is 21st May 2017

Last day for payment and depositing the challan at any SBI bank branch will be 25th May 2017

b) At the Bank: Carry the printout of the challan to your nearest branch of State Bank of India; the window clerk shall verify your registration details including name from the printed challan and then enter your payment

A journal number will be generated by the bank and this will be written/ stamped on both copies of the bank challan; the bank shall retain the bank copy while candidate shall be given the student copy

c) Ensure that the journal number is written on the student copy along with the seal of the bank. (Please keep a copy of this safely as this will be your proof for having paid the application charges and bank fees)
