RIMC Entrance Exam - Rashtriya Indian Military College Entrance Exam

RIMC Entrance Exam 2016 -  Rashtriya Indian Military College Entrance Exam acronym as RIMC Entrance Exam is conducted by Rashtriya Indian Military College on All India basis twice in a year for providing admission to boys in the the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun - an Inter-Services Institution and a Category ‘A’ establishment of the Ministry of Defence  established in 1922 - with the primary aim of preparing the boys for entry into Defence Services and to provide quality all round education to young boys.

Candidates are admitted in the Eighth Class through RIMC Entrance Exam.

RIMC Entrance Exam Eligibility 

Educational Qualifications

Candidates should either be studying in Class VII or passed Class VII from any recognized school at the time of admission to the RIMC, i.e. on 01 Jan 2017.

Age Limits

Aspiring candidates appearing for RIMC Entrance Exam should not be less than 11½ years in age but should not have attained the age of 13 years as on 01 Jan of the respective year.

(Ex. They should have been born not earlier than 2nd Jan, 2004 and not later than 1st Jul, 2005 for admission on 1st Jan, 2016)

 RIMC Entrance Exam Syllabus

RIMC Entrance Exam consists of question form the basic syllabus till 7th Class.

 RIMC Entrance Exam Pattern

RIMC Entrance Exam consists of Written Exam followed by 

Viva Voice and Medical Examination.

Written Examination

The written part of the examination will consist of three papers:

Paper -   Marks

English-125

Mathematics-200

General Knowledge-75

Viva Voice

Interview will be of 50 marks and held for only those candidates who qualify in the written exam. Intelligence and personality of the candidates will be tested in the interview. 

Medical Examination

The candidates finally selected after the viva-voce will undergo a medical examination at selected Military Hospitals and only those candidates found medically fit will be considered for selection and admission to the RIMC. The medical examination of the candidates forms only a part of the system of selection and does not imply the final selection. 


RIMC Entrance Exam Qualifying marks.

Minimum pass marks in each paper including interview will be 50%.

RIMC Entrance Exam centres are generally located in the state capitals or in cities/towns .

 

RIMC Entrance Exam Dates

RIMC Entrance Exam is normally held in the month of June.

 

RIMC Entrance Exam Fee

RIMC Entrance Exam Fee is Rs.490 for General candidates and Rs.435 for SC/ST candidates.

 

How to apply for RIMC Entrance Exam?

Aspiring candidates can obtain prospectus-cum-application form and booklet of old question papers by registered post/speed post by sending a written request with an account payee bank demand draft of requsite fee. The demand draft will be made in favour of:

Note: The address should be TYPED / WRITTEN clearly in CAPITAL LETTERS with pin code and contact number. RIMC will NOT be responsible for any postal delay or loss in transit of prospectus caused by illegible or incomplete address.

Note:Locally printed or photocopied and without RIMC Hologram (Seal) forms will be rejected.

Applications in duplicate on prescribed form accompanied by documents to be attached with application form two passport size photographs, Birth Certificate (issued by Municipal Corporation/Gram Panchayat, SC, ST Certificate and Certificate from principal of the School in original with photograph on it attested stating date of birth and in which Class studying. Application forms should reach the respective Govts(as specified in the press note) of the States, where their parents /guardians normally reside on or before Last Date.

 

Important: Kindly note the application forms must be sent to the respective State Govts and not to the Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, else the form will be invalid.
