Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun
  • The APPSC conducts examination for admission to Class VIII in the Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun every half year in February and August.
  • The actual admissions to the College take place six months after the selection.
  • The main objective of the college is to better prepare young candidates for the National Defence Academy Entrance Examination conducted by the UPSC.
  • One should keep in mind that cadets from the R.I.M.C. are not admitted directly into the N.D.A. They are required, like all other candidates to qualify at the U.P.S.C. competitive examination and the Services Selection Board Interview.
  • Only 25 candidates are admitted every six months from all over India. Two vacancies are reserved for the candidates from the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Eligibility
  • Education:  The candidate should either be studying in Class VII or passed Class VII from any recognized School at the time of admission in R.I.M.C.
  • Age: The candidate should not be less than 11 ½ years in age, and should not be more than 13 years at the time of exam notification.

Interview – 50 marks
  • The interview is designed primarily to test the intelligence, personality etc., not the proficiency in English.
  • In the Written Examination, to qualify a candidate must obtain a minimum of 50% marks.
  • The paper in Mathematics may be answered either in Hindi or in English.
  • General Knowledge paper may be answered in Hindi or in English or in any Regional Language.
  • Candidates who qualify in the Written Examination and Interview will be required to undergo a Medical Examination at the selected Military Hospital and only those who are medically fit, will be considered for selection.
Application
  • The prospectus along with the application form and sample question papers can be procured directly from RIMC Dehradun.
  •  Application fee: Application fee must be paid by the candidates as prospectus-cum-application form at home through bank demand draft in favor of “The Commandant Rimc Dehradun, Drawee Branch, State Bank of India, Tel Bhavan, Dehra dun, (Bank Code-01576), Uttarakhand”.
