Exclusive- ISI Was Planning To Target Agra, Even Al Qeada Vowed To Target Taj Mahal

by Raghav Gakhar
An espionage racket of Pakistan’s inter-services intelligence was busted in various parts of the country recently.  The captured ISI agent Mohammad Kalam was forced to confess that he had been planning to attack Agra for a long time. He had been visiting the city frequently and had even conducted a recce there.
Kalam stayed in Agra for long duration in order to gain information about the major military and air force bases set up in Agra. As Agra is a major tourist attraction, the level of security over there is comparatively high. He visited Agra as much as seven times to be sure of the military movements in and around the city. He even conducted a recce of the Agra military headquarters which is the only 50th Para brigade.
The investigating team even recovered several maps of the various military bases and a video footage of Mirage-2000 aircraft landing on the Yamuna Expressway.
Kalam had even forwarded the classified information about the army bases and their locations to agents back in Pakistan. He confessed that several sleeper cells had been developed in the city. The security agencies of India now have to focus on destroying these sleeper cells before they get active. These sleeper cells can cause a lot of damage to the city if they get activated.
Agra plays an important role for both the Indian Army as well as the Indian Air Force. These bases played a crucial role in ending the massive lead coup in Maldives overnight. The Air Force base in Agra is one of it's kind. It is by far the biggest and the most used Air Force base. It has major Aircrafts like AN-32, C-130J, IL-76 and 78.
Recently, the Taj Mahal was put on high security as the infamous Al-Qaeda  had threatened to attack major tourist attractions in India. Taj Mahal being the most famous was at a higher risk. The list continued with Krishna Janam-bhumi in Mathura and Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi after Taj Mahal.
These tourist attractions are of great heritage value to the country. They should not be attacked by such terrorist organizations which would make them loose their value.
