6. If a factory produces 12500 bicycles in one day, how many bicycles will it manufacture , in the month of Feb that has 28 days and Four week. Every Sunday is observed as holiday and that month has 4 Sundays.

Now this is a word problem.
Reasoning and Logical thinking is required.
For such problems we should use step by step deduction:

Step one: what is given in the problem?
               a)  A factory produces 12,500 bicycles in one day
               b)  The factory is closed on every Sunday.
               c)  There are four Sundays in Feb that year
               d) There for it can be deduced as 4 holidays and hence working days are 28-4 = 24 days.
               e) Now it is clear that the factory had worked for 24 days and each day it produced 12,500 bicycles

Step 2: What is to be found out?
How many Bicycles it produced in 24 days?

Step 3: Formula / Method
We know that 12500 bicycles are produced per day, and for finding out the number of bicycles produced in 24 days we have to MULTIPLY 12500 x 24
ie. 3,00,000 bicycles would be manufactured during the month of February.

Step 4 Answer:  3,00,000 bicycles were produced.

Now let us see some skill application in this chapter:

Q.7.  3 8 * 8 9   Multiplied. by 19 gives   733191. Now find the number that comes in place of *

To answer this question we have to
Divide 733191 by 19
we get the answer 38589
Hence the number that comes in place of * is 5

Q.8. You had 100 toffees, you gave away all but  9, how much will be left?

Here gave away means  Given off is you have to subtract the  amount  left ( all but  9)
100 ( total)  -9 ( left) Balance= 100 - 9 = 91 given away.
What is asked is how much will be left that is 9 toffees. Answer
