What is leadership ?
It is an ability to lead a group in a mission by using once knowledge, skill and commonsense.
To become a leader the main things that are required is a group and task. only when these two are available one among the group emerges as a leader
Leadership development refers to any activity that enhances the quality of leadership within an individual or organization. 
One must understand that knowing what to do and doing what one knows are two very different outcomes of any training.
Military officer-training academies, such as the Indian Military Academy Dehradun, go to great lengths to accept only candidates who show the highest potential to lead well. Personal characteristics that are associated  with successful leadership development include leader motivation to learn, a high achievement drive and personality traits such as openness to experience, an internal focus of control, and self-monitoring.In order to develop individual leaders, supervisors or superiors must conduct an individual assessment.; 
  • Attitude: attitude plays a major role in being a leader.
  • self efficacy: the right training and coaching should bring about 'Self efficacy' in the trainee
  • Though SSB and FSB looks for 15 different types of Qualities in an individual, one may not have all these. Most of these are developed by training and learning.
