STEPS TO become a PILOT 

For those of you just starting out on the path to pilot training we hope the following will give you a clear understanding of the steps you need to follow to achieve your ambition with Defence Academy.Coimbatore

Min Qualification:-
10 + 2 With Physics, and Maths

Age: 
16.5 to 19.5 Years ( Only Male)

Through National Defence Academy:-

a) UPSC Written Exam   
b) Air Force Selection Board Interview ( Coaching available ) 
c) Pilot Aptitude Battery Test ( Coaching available ) 
d) Medical
e) Merit List
f) Completion of B.Sc Graduation at NDA
g) Training at Air Force Academy Dundigal ( Basic)
h) Advance Trg as per choice.

After Graduation:-
18.5 to 24 years ( Both Male and Female)

a) Written Exam ( AFCAT- AIr Force Common Admission Test) Coaching Available
Apply on line via airforce web site
Exams held twice a year Feb and Sep every year
b) Air Force Selection Board Interview ( Coaching available ) 
c) Pilot Aptitude Battery Test ( Coaching available ) 
d) Medical
e) Merit List
f) Training at Air Force Academy Dundigal ( Basic)
h) Advance Trg as per choice.


Inservice Training For Pilot:-
Serving Airmen Can apply - for Reserved Vacancy

Spl Vacancy reserved for NCC Air Wing Cadets

CPL holders age increased and can apply via the same procedure.
