How to become a civil Pilot? The Department of Aviation in India is considered to have two divisions? the Commercial segment, which we use to travel, and the Military division. Again, the Commercial segment is divided into, Passenger flight and Cargo flight. It can be further classified into Domestic flight and International flight. The Military Division consists of the activities of Indian Air force, the operations of Navy, and Infantry.
In the flight for civilians otherwise known as Commercial section, there are divisions like Marketing, Maintenance, FINANCE and Airline operations. The activities of the pilot come under Operation division.
The pilots undertake long and short distance flights. An hour before take off, they check and decide the flight plans, otherwise called Pre-Flight check-up. They have to consider at the same time, the route to be pursued, the height the aircraft has to fly and the existing weather conditions. The ?take off and ?landing pose a hazard to pilots. Apart from these, they have to confirm the functioning of the different parts of Aircraft and Mechanical devices.
They have also to take into account whether the aircraft has sufficient fuel or not. They share these details with the other cabin members. Moreover, every now and then they communicate to the passengers about the conditions of the flight. Along with the co-pilot, they lead the flight.
For this kind of job, it is essential to possess qualities like discipline, punctuality, responsibility and commitment to the job. Hard work, good physique, adjustability, alertness and taking decision in crucial hours are some of vital traits required for this profession.
