This morning we had a two hour interaction with Former SSB Psychologist and our SSB Aspirants.
Some of the salient point given by the Psychologist are as follows:-
He narrated an example.
" Your aim is to occupy a house"
There are two methods:
a) Buy a land and build a house as per your choice and design
b) Buy a ready made house.
What would you like ?
A house built as per your taste
or
A House some body has built.
Most of the students said, if time and money is of no constrain then they would go in for a house built to their choice.
Well the services are looking a good design.
They have the land and architect, so they want a person or a design that they can suitably modify to suit their need.
Hence, no amount of coaching will change a person as per their need, it is looking for some basic qualities, which can be developed by proper training and make that individual come up to their expectation.
These Qualities are the basic structure and the training is the required design to which the buyer can modify.
well in short he said
Knowledge - determination - and the will + potential to be trained are some of the qualities that the ssb assessment officers are looking for.
In psych tests. the time is of paramount importance. with in the given time, the candidate is expected to write as per the briefing given by the psych.
Unless the candidate has it in him, it will be difficult to pose or act as if he has them. This is what they are trained for and are liberal in selecting the potential candidates.
The train-ability of a candidate who is young is more when compared to mentally more mature candidate.
