WHEN TO APPLY?
The RIMC calls for application twice a year for admission to the courses starting in the month of JAN  and July.

Admission is given only in Class VIII and for boys only

Age: 11.5 to 13 years at the time of commencement of the Academic Session.

Exams are conducted on 1st and 2nd June and 1st and 2nd December every year for admission to the course that would begin after 6 months from the date of examination.

NOTE: The candidate should be studying in class VII at the time of admission. He must not have  competed his 13th year as on the date of commencement of the course.

Entrance Examination would be at the level of CBSE/ NCERT Class VII.

Often I have seen the level to be slightly more than this level.
The question paper would be Moderate to Difficult for that age.

Maths has 30 questions- SPEED and ACCURACY is important to crack this exam.

English: It is a very standard paper and covers almost all aspects that is expected out of a class VIII boy.

General Awareness: This is certainly a Tough one unless the candidate prepares for about 6 months, it would be difficult for him to score 75% in this paper.
It covers 
Physics, Chemistry, History, Geography, Civics, biology, Current affairs and General awareness about  
what is happening in India and the world over.

Where to get the Application form this would be given three months before the date of examination

The copies of application forms, prospectus and set of old question papers could be obtained from the Commandant, RIMC, Dehradun on payment of Rs.430/- for registered post or Rs.480/- for speed post for General candidates and Rs.385/- for registered post or Rs.435/-  for speed post for SC/ST candidates through demand draft in favour of Commandant, RIMC, Dehradun payable at SBI Tel Bhavan (Code No.01576) Dehradun alongwith three passport size photographs of the candidate. Besides this, the candidate should furnish a certificate of age in duplicate from municipal birth register.
