Who Gets selected in the SSB Interviews ?
The Defence force is looking for
Men and Women who are self starters
Who can take control of situation and find a satisfactory result
The Right man or woman is one who
gets along with the team- corrects- guides yet does not dominate
He walks with you to accomplish the task
He not only plans but he with you through the execution part of it .
Three ways to test you
Your Mind
Your Actions
Your Words
The way you write tells what you are and what you can become
The way you act tells them what you actually are?
The way you talk about yourself and give opinion tells them if you are Performer or just a Follower
They are looking for Performers and not followers.
Let us see an example:
Have you represented Your School?/ Class?/ College/ At least Your department?
Have you achieved something which others have not.
Have you been a person who has taken initiative rather then mr / miss nobody.
NCC/ NSS / Scouting or other extra curricular Activities?
Your Record of Failures Vs Success
Subjects - Which one ?
Like - Whom and why
what you want to become? Why you want to become- What are the steps you have taken to become what you want to become?
All said and done
A PERFORMER IS A CLEAR CUT WINNER.

Instead of ‘best’ fit, they want ‘right’ fit:
Defence Forces
is one such organization which doesn’t want the best people as officers,
they
want the right people. In other organizations if you go and there are
‘n’
number of people who have come there for interview, then they’ll select
based
on the number of posts. They’ll select amongst the lot, who they think
is best
for the job. Where as in SSB they want the right fit. If they won’t find
the
right fit, they’ll simply reject all the other people, if they find the
right
fit in all, then they’ll recommend all. You must have read that there is
a
shortage of officers in the forces, this is the major reason for that.
Since
SSB is a very tough interview and they want the right fit and not the
best one,
hence the reason for the vacant seats. - See more at:
