Let’s start from a scratch:
1. What is the full form of N.D.A?
National Defence Academy, it located in Kadakvasla, near Pune Maharashtra.
2. What are the benefits of joining NDA?
· It is a tri services training institute.
· Three years study coupled with basic military training is offered to male candidates ( female candidates will be given opportunity from 2021/ 2022)
· The trg culminates with a Degree in B.A, B.Sc., or B.Tech depending on the choice of the candidate.
· The cost of training is borne by the Ministry of Defence, incl, travel, food, accm, med,etc.,
· Upon completion of the training at NDA, one moves to Officers training academy of Army, Navy or Air Force as per the candidate’s choice. ( To be selected while appearing for the Entrance Examination)
3. Who all can appear?
Boys who are physically fit, and within the age group of 17.5 to 19.5 years. While studying in class XII one can appear in the month of Oct. Forms to be filled during May / June.
4. What are the stages involved in selection of a candidate for NDA training?
· Written test
· Services Selection Board Interview
· Medical test
· Merit list
· Approx. vacancy per term, is about 350 ( depending upon the vacancy allotted by MOD)
· Exams held twice a year in April/ Oct
Qualifying in NDA examination and SSB isn’t a cakewalk. One must be prepared to work hard. About 5/6 lakh candidates appear for about 400 vacancies.
Remember that Written subject consists of about 8 subjects and have Negative marking system. We will learn about this in this article
SSB is all about your personality test and suitability test to undergo rigorous military training in the capacity of junior officer.

About the Exam,:
The UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) controls the examination It is the participant’s path to enter the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy.

Subject-wise preparation tips for NDA 2020
The NDA examination is the National defense academy entrance exam. It is conducted in two stages 1st stage is written test, and the second is an interview. The UPSC (UPSC Union Public Service Commission performs the formal written examination and the SSB interview performed by the SSB (Services Selection Board).
if we talk about the written test its conducted twice in a year. This written test consists primarily in three sections, first in English, second is Mathematics, and 3rd is General Knowledge.
We all know that dealing with math subject is very tough. Because maths subject includes so many hard topics such as algebra, arithmetic, matrices, calculus, trigonometry, etc.
According to the NDA syllabus the highest marks for mathematics subject paper is 300 and for GAT (General ability test) is 600.
Preparation tips for Mathematics subject
The Mathematics examination covers so many topics like Algebra, Vector algebra, Determinants, and Matrices, Integral calculus, Differential Equations, Statistics and probability, Trigonometry.
The examination paper of maths has 120 multiple type questions for 300 marks. The syllabus of maths is class 12 level. Class 12th maths students easily solve the paper because they are familiar with maths subject.
The first and probably most important necessity to prepare for this section is to have clarity in the concepts the questions should test the understanding of the definitions in theory. if the concepts are not simple, go back to the basics and try to solve as many sums as possible.

Preparation tips about GAT
The GAT is for 400 marks and will verify the general understanding of an applicant and his perspective on the current affairs inside and outside the world. The exam would consist of six sections: General education, Indian history, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, and current affairs.
General ability divided into these parts
Part A – English
The English test is for 200 marks which covers so many topics such as comprehension, vocabulary, grammar use, etc. it checks assesses a person’s basic command over the English language. During preparing for this English exam read English newspaper regularly to train for this exam, learn new vocabulary in daily basic, go back to basic grammar and carefully learn the rules. Try to solve English questions and practice sample as much as you can.
Part B – GK
The GK exam is for 400 marks and will confirm a general understanding of the candidates and their input into the Current Affairs within and outside the region. The exam would consist of six sections: General Education, Indian History, Physics, Geography, Chemistry, and Actual Events.
To plan for this exam, frequently track the news updates, be informed of the latest developments in the field of athletics, music, literature and the like. Write about the country’s current economic situation, new and historical policy changes and such other problems that are directly related to India and its neighbors.
Preparation tips of SSB Interview
For the SSB Interview, which is the second stage of the selection process, the applicants who pass the written exam are called up. There are two different assessments in the SSB interview–academic aptitude test and intelligence test. The applicants will focus on improving the personality to pass certain tests.
The examination aims at assessing the officer-like characteristics of the applicants. The applicants will start appearing psychological tests for this examination from the very beginning.
Put your focus on developing your personality for this study. The test usually evaluates the candidates for officer-like qualities, including sense of responsibility, responsiveness to situations, teamwork, social adaptability, etc.

Tips for medical examination
Every applicant must be mentally and physically fit in compliance with the physical requirements of the UPSC. A number of qualified candidates are disqualified for medical reasons. Therefore, applicants are encouraged to get themselves medically examined before submitting. Candidates are urged to rectify small deficiencies so that after being referred to the SSB they can speed up the finalization of medical examination. NDA Syllabus
