Difference between Sainik School and RIMC Entrance Exam Questions

Questions asked in Sainik / Military School and RIMC are almost same.
The only difference is it is slightly twisted in RIMC
Example:1
Sainik School Entrance Exam Maths
The difference between two numbers is 215. If the value of the greater number is 827 then find the value of the smaller number.

SOLUTION:
Value of the smaller number = value of the greater number - Difference between two numbers. = 827 - 213 = 612 answer

Rashtriya Military School question:-

The difference between two numbers is 215. If the value of the greater number is 827 and the value of the smaller number is such that it has 6 in its hundreds and the last digit is twice that of the middle digit find the number?

SOLUTION:
Value of the smaller number = value of the greater number - Difference between two numbers. = 827 - 215 = 612 (in this the digit in hundred place is 6 and the last number is 2 which is twice the middle digit
When a number is divided by 296, it gives a remainder 0f 75. If that number is divided by 37, then the remainders will be______________
Answer is 1

The same question is twisted in the RIMC Entrance Exam:

The difference between two numbers which is made of three digits is exactly divisible by 3.
If the value of the greater number is same as the greatest three digit number. the smaller number is 1/3 of the greater number. Find the numbers.
SOLUTION :

The greater number is the greatest three digit number is 999 the smaller number is 1/3 of the greater number and is exactly divisible by 3 is 999 divided by 3 = 333 this is the answer

Q.2. The mean of 4 numbers is 10. What will be the new mean if two more numbers 6 and 8 are included?
SOLUTION
 Step1: Sum of all the four numbers= 4 x 10 = 40
When two more new numbers ie. 6 and 8 are added ( 6+8= 14) the total becomes 40=14= 54.
New mean= Average = (Sum of all the numbers / Qty of numbers)
ie. 54/ 6 = 9
Hence the mean of 6 numbers would be 9 Answer

Q.2. The mean of 4 numbers is 10. What will be the new mean if two more numbers both are single digit even numbers less than 10 but more than 5 are added?

SOLUTION
This is a question of slightly high order of thinking.
The fundamental should be strong to solve this problem
Step1:Sum of all the four numbers= 4 x 10 = 40
When two more new numbers ie. Two single digit even numbers which are more than 5 but less than 10, are added
It clearly defines that the numbers to be added are 6 and 8
Hence adding (6+8 = 14) the total becomes 40=14= 54.
New mean= Average = (Sum of all the numbers / Qty of numbers)
ie. 54/ 6 = 9
Hence the mean of 6 numbers would be 9 Answer

Rashtriya Indian Military College Entrance Exam Maths

Q.2. The mean of 4 numbers is the smallest two digit number. What will be the new mean if two more numbers both are single digit even numbers and are less than 10 but
the smaller of the two is exactly divisible by 2 and 3 but the greater of the two are exactly divisible by 2 and 4 , Find the mean and the two numbers which are added

SOLUTION :
This is a question of slightly high order of thinking.
The fundamental should be strong to solve this problem Step1:Sum of all the four numbers= 4 x 10 = 40
When two more new numbers ie. Two single digit even numbers of which smaller number is exactly divisible is by 2 and 3 which is nothing but 6
and the greater of the two single digit number is exactly divisible by 2 and 4 is 8 ( That is less than 10)
It clearly defines that the numbers to be added are 6 and 8
Hence adding (6+8 = 14) the total becomes 40=14= 54.
New mean= Average = (Sum of all the numbers / Qty of numbers)
ie. 54/ 6 = 9
Hence the mean of 6 numbers would be 9 Answer
