From the above results you can see that only candidates who qualify in English Language test have qualified.
The overall performance in English is VERY POOR
What can be done about it?
Having coached students for RIMC over the last 16 years, I have come to realize the standard of English has deteriorated over the period of time.
Hence I as a teacher, thought about some way to improve this pathetic performance.
I am now convinced that coaching should start as early as class V for a child who is studying in any English medium school
The answer is start from the Basics.
So I have collected materials from number of sources and compiled it
It now formed into
BASIC- Intermediate level and Advanced level (restricted to up to class VII level)
I have omitted GK part as you can see a boy with above average IQ can easily crack this.
Now coming to Maths and English
I have formed Work book of Mathematics and solutions for it (Class V level), VI and VII separately
Also for English language Class V, VI and VII class studying students separately>
Basic level foundation for RIMC should start in Class V
Our kit includes ENGLISH- MATHEMATICS- WORK BOOK WITH SOLUTIONS.
For all levels.
English and maths has sub parts as
Basic Concept, Application and Skill level questions.
Doing one chapter daily will enhance the skill of the child.
Besides the book one must also buy a good dictionary ENG- ENG- Vernacular Language
Small Story books in English language
This should be bought and given to a class V boy. Giving is not sufficient, the parent has to spend at least one hour with the child to read it along with him and mark all the difficult words, make him see the dictionary understand and carry on.
The child should be encourage to write short essays, which will increase his written skill.
Eg: Alice in wonderland by Lewis Carroll ,   Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson
Jungle book by by Rudyard Kipling
