WHERE TO START? SCHOOL



Let us start with the School:

Once you have completed the elementary school education, your journey starts from SAINIK, Military, Jawahar Navo Vidhyalay Schools


Admission to these school starts in class 6, via an entrance examination.

One can apply six months prior to commencement of the school session. The age of the aspirants should be between 10 to 1 years as on 01st June of the year of admission.
The entrance exam consists of two parts

1. Written test - (Maths, English or language, Intelligence test, General Awareness). Multiple choice questions to be answered on an OMR sheet within two hours.

Tests are held in the month of Dec/ Jan every year.

The aspirants can also take these test for entrance into class IX

2. On passing the Entrance, the aspirants will have to face a VIVA ( Oral Interview) and Medical examination.

3. As per the merit list the successful candidates will be called for admission during the month of April.


B. Rashtriya Indian Military College:

This institution is located in Dehradun, near Indian Military Academy.Its open for those seeking admission in class VIII. The admission is offered to candidates, who succeed at Written test and viva, As per merit list they would be admitted in the college

NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY PUNE


Just after completing plus 2 a candidate ( at present only Males) can seek admission for this academy. This is a training establishment under ministry of Defence, offers three years training and prepares them to join the IMA, Air Force or Naval academy, where they finally passout as Officers in the Armed Forces


Written Exam consists of:-

a) Mathematics- 2.5 hours- 300 Marks

b) General Ability- 2.5 hours- 600 Marks

(i) English- 200 Marks and

(ii GK ----- 400 Marks

c) Services Selection Board Interview ( For those who qualify Written Exam) 900 Marks

  • Recruitment in Indian Armed Forces

    The Indian Armed Forces symbolize the ideals of service, patriotism and composite culture of the country. Recruitment to the Armed Forces is voluntary and open to all citizens of India irrespective of caste, class, religion and community, provided the laid down physical, medical and educational criteria are met.

    UPSC Recruitment of Commissioned Officers

    The Union Public Service Commission recruits the Commissioned Officers in the Armed Forces by conducting mainly the two all India Competitive Examinations.


    Service Entry
    This entry is only for serving soldiers, airmen and Sailors.

    Eligiblity: Those who have completed, +2 or equivalent in army, navy, air force exam and have served for a minimum period of two years are eligible to take the ARMY CADET COLLEGE, entrance Exam

    Those candidates who qualify the written test, face the SSB interview, followed by medical.
    They are admitted in ACC based on their merit list. The entire three years of training is provided at Army Cadet
    College wing of IMA Dehradun
    Like NDA they do get a degree from Jawhar lal Nehru University and enter IMA for further one year of training

    Age limit for this entry is up to 27 years

    They continue to draw pay and allowances of their rank till they pass out of Army Cadet College



  • CDSE is conducted by the

    UPSC
    twice a year. University graduates or those in final year
    of graduation are eligible to appear in the examination.
    Successful candidates join the Indian Military Academy/Air Force Academy and Naval Academy for Permanent Commission
    and Officers Training Academy (OTA) for Short Service Commission.

    •  Short Service Commission (Technical) Entry

      The Short Service Commission (Technical) Entry Scheme provides avenues to eligible technical graduates/post graduates for recruitment in Technical Arms. After SSB and Medical Board, the selected candidates are required to undergo approximately 49 weeks pre-commission training at OTA, Chennai.


    Feel Proud - Join Indian Army

    Apart from recruitment through the UPSC, the commissioned officers are also recruited in Army through the Non-UPSC entries.

    The Army offers both permanent and short service commissions. Permanent commission (PC) is granted through the Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun and Short Service Commission (SSC) is granted through Officers Training Academy (OTA) Chennai. When you opt for 'PC', you are basically looking at a permanent career in the Army, a career till you retire. SSC is a wonderful option for all those of you who aspire to serve it for a few years. It gives you the option of joining the Army, and serving it as a commissioned officer for five years. Once your tenure is over, you are allowed to opt for PC. Alternatively, you can also ask for a five years extension and can choose to resign from your post any time during this period.

    Recruitment of Officers through Non- UPSC Entries: Recruitment of Commissioned Officers in the Indian Air Force is mainly done through the
    UPSC. For technical branches, women special entry scheme, National Cadet Corps (NCC) special entry scheme, service entries, recruitment is made directly through the Recruiting Directorate for the Indian Air Force.
