HOW TO SCORE MORE IN MATHS EXAMS- School Level.

In general, the kids are not willing to learn what makes them use the God given gift of logic and reasoning.

The fear of maths or Dyscalculia  is something that worries parents a lot.

Having an above average IQ seems to be an answers.

For dummies like me.
the answer is simple practice solving 50 different sums a day.
One chapter a Day, Concept to be learned well
and then
50 sums pertaining to that chapter.
Learn the Formulae well.

You should be confident of solving any word problem involving that chapter.

Now logic
how is this used.

The following question was asked by me to students appearing for Sainik School Entrance exam

If A and B go to an ice cream parlour and ordered one ice cream each.
The cost of ice cream ordered by B was 2.5 times more than that of A.
If they paid a total of Rs. 70.
what was the cost of ice cream that A had ordered.

Only boys who had an IQ of 120 and above could answer this question.
when I asked the same
in the following manner the dullest of the class answered correctly
A and B has one cone ice cream
cost of Ice cream that A had was 20, total money paid was Rs. 70.The cost of ice cream had by B was_____.

(b) RATIO OF COST OF Ice cream
A  : B is    ____ : ____

Many made a mistake stating it was 2 : 7
actual answer 2: 5

Why is this lack of Reasoning is
They have not been taught to question as to why, how and why not?
