Target - SSB / FSB- The Art of Writing Thematic Apperception Test ( T A T )


Basically this is the main test in Psychological test series.

The time given is very short.

All the thoughts emerges at a sub conscious state of mind. Hence, it is very difficult to fake it.

The candidates will be briefed by the conducting psychologist before the commencement of this test.

The candidate would be asked to 
write
1. What happened before the scene depicted in the picture?
2. What is now happening? 
3. What will happen in the future?

The candidate should keep the following in mind:-
a) You are the main character in the story that you would be 
writing.
b) The age, education back ground, the place all are to be taken as if your were narrating it.
c) There has to be an AIM/ A reasonable Problem that the main character would strive for/ solve it.
d) The Problem which the main character would be facing should not be too simple/ too complicated.
e) It could be from day to day happening.
f) It should not be too imaginary that the candidate would not have faced/ are too fictitious.
g) The language should be appropriate.
h) Try to write the story in English and avoid grammatical. spelling errors.
i) The idea brought out should not be of very low level.

Let us see a story written by a candidate who is about to appear for ssb and judge yourself if the candidate is fit for selection.
 The undermentioned story is reproduced verbatim, so that the reader understands why the candidate does not stand a chance to make it at the SSB/ FSB.
