 NUMBER SYSTEM
TEST OF DIVISIBILITY
·         For a number to be divisible by 2, the number should end with 0,2,4,6 or 8.
·         For a number to be divisible by 3, the sum of all the digits of the number should be divisible by 3.
·         For a number to be divislble by 4, the last two digits of the number must be divisible by 4.
·         For a number to be divisible by 5, the number should end with 0 or 5.
·         For a number to be divisible by 6, the number should be divisible by 2 and 3.
·         For a number to be divisible by 8, the last three digits of the number should be divisible by 8 or the number should be divisible by 2 and 4.
·         For a number to be divisible by 9, the sum of all the digits of the number should be divisible by 9.
·         For a number to be divisible by 10, the number should end with 0(zero).
·         For a number to be divisible by 11, the difference between the sum of alternate digits of the given number must be 0 or 11.
BODMAS
For any problem having more than one arithmetic signs, the following order should be followed while solving:
·         B – Bracket
·         O – Of
·         D – Division
·         M – Multiplication
·         A – Addition
·         S – Subtraction
PERCENT = Percent means out of 100
PROFIT AND LOSS
When the selling price is more than the cost price, it is a profit.
When the cost price is more than the selling price, it is a loss.
·         Profit = Selling Price – Cost Price
·         Loss = Cost Price – Selling Price
·         Profit % =
·         Loss % =
·         When profit%, SP are given, CP =
·         When profit%, CP are given, SP =
·         When loss%, SP are given, CP =
·         When loss%, CP are given, SP =
SIMPLE INTEREST
·         SI =
Where P = Principal
                N = No of years
                R = Rate of interest
                SI = Simple Interest
·         A = P + SI
Where A = Amount

To find    N =   SI X 100 / P x R
To find    R =   SI X 100 / P x N

AVERAGE
·         Average/Mean =

CONVERSIONS
DISTANCE
10 MILLIMETRE = 1 CENTIMETRE
10 CENTIMETRE = 1 DECIMETRE
10 DECIMETRE = 1 METRE
10 METRE = 1 DECAMETRE
10 DECAMETRE = 1 HECTAMETRE
10 HECTAMETRE = 1 KILOMETRE

TIME
1 DAY = 24 HOURS
1 HOUR = 60 MINUTES
1 MINUTE = 60 SECONDS
1 DAY = 24 X 60 X 60 = 86,400 SECONDS
Distance = Speed x Time
Or Speed = Distance / Time
OR Time = Distance/ Speed
To convert km / h into meters per sec
First convert the Km into M by multiplying it with 1000 m (  1km = 1000 m)
And 1 hours= 60 x60 seconds
So 54 km /h when converted into m/s
54 x 5 / 18 =  3 x 5 = 15 m/ s
And while converting m/s in to km/ hr
m/s x 18 / 5 gives km / hr

Converting of Centigrade into Fahrenheit
C x  9/5   + 32 = Degree F
F into C
F-32 x  5/9 =  ___ Degree C

IMPORTANT
Before you start calculating any area/ volume/ perimeter
See that the values are in the same unit
Is. In length is given in M and Height is given in cm. Then convert all the either cm or m
In Simple Interest calculation See that the number of months / days are converted into Years.
Leap year has 29 days in Feb
When calculating for months take 30 days as a month
