Interview is important part of the  SSB

The basic objective of the interview is to get an insight of the candidate’s personality by friendly conversation and to assess the degree to which he/she possess the officer like qualities.

The  Qs are framed in such a way  that is intended to reveal the mental qualities of the candidate.
Through this technique, the following aspects are to be assessed:

Sample Interview Questions For SSB Interview

Planning and organization
  • Power of expression
  • Effective intelligence, reasoning
  • Social adjustment
  • Adaptability, cooperation, responsibility
  • Social effectiveness
  • Initiative, self-confidence, and liveliness
  • Courage and determination
Here are some sample interview questions which could be asked based on the PIQ form which you need to fill on the first day:
General Questions:
  1. Tell me about yourself? [The answer to this give the impression to the interviewer about how you are and this could be the best impression a candidate could stamp on the interviewer]
  2. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
  3. Why do you want to join the armed forces?
  4. What will you do if you did not get recommended?
  5. Tell about your ability to work under pressure and a situation to testify your answer.
About your Education:
  1. Which school(s) did you attend from primary level and did you choose your areas of study by yourself or were you reluctant to it by others?
  2. Which is your favorite subject & teacher and why?
  3. What’s your score in your 10th and 12th? What’s the reason behind your poor grades?
  4. What are your achievements during the course of your studies?
Related to Family and Friends:
  1. What’s your parent’s educational qualification? What’s their occupation?
  2. How much pocket money did you get from your parents and how did you utilized it?
  3. What were your holiday plans with friends and family?
  4. How have you helped your friends in their time of need?
Your Interests and Extra-Curricular Activities:
  1. What’s your favorite hobby and how do you fetch time for it?
  2. When did you realize that this your hobby?
  3. What Extra-Curricular activities did you take up during studies? Why?
Always remember to smile during your interview, for, no one likes a person who is dull and is not interesting. Keep your answers to the point and be honest.
