From Ravi’s salary 25% is deducted on house rent, 20% of the rest is deducted on education of children and 40% of the rest is deducted on food. Still Ravi is left with Rs. 9000. What is his salary?

2.Aditya has to obtain 40% marks to pass. He obtains 210 and fails by 40. Find the maximum number of marks.

3.The total population of a country is 294000, out of which 150000 are males. Out of every 100 males, 98 can read and write, but only 53% of the total population can do so. Find the percentage of women who can read and write.

4.If the income of Ram is more than that of Ramesh by 25%, then by how much percentage Ramesh’s income is less than that of Ram?

Solution:-
Step 1: Given 25 % of the total salary is deducted for House rent, Now left with is 75% only
            Out of this 75 % 20 % is deducted for Education
            Out of what is left over 40 %  deducted for Food
            Now left is Rs. 9000
Step 2: To find what is the full salary
Step 3: working:
Say Rs. 100 is the total salay. Out of this 25%  goes for Rent  Now left is 75 Rs.
Out of 75, 20 % goes for education 20/ 100 x 75 = 1/ 5 x 75 = 15 rs.
Now left is 75-15 – 60 rs.
Out of this 60 40% goes for foo
ie 40/ 100 x 60 = 2/ 5 x 60 = 2 x 12 = 24Rs.
Now left is 25 +24+15 = 64 spent – 36 left
If 36 Rs. Left full salary is 100
If 9000 left full salary is    9000 x 100 / 36   =    1000 x100 / 4 = 25 x 10000 = Rs. 25000 Answer
  
Q.2. Pass mark is 40 % marks obtained is 210, failed by 40.
Total mark is ?
210 + 40 = 250 is the pass mark
Is 40 % is 250
Hence 100 % = 250 + 250 + 125 = 625 marks Answer

Q.3. .The total population of a country is 294000, out of which 150000 are males. Out of every 100 males, 98 can read and write, but only 53% of the total population can do so
294000- 150000 = 144000 females.
98% males can read ie. 98/ 100  * 150000 =     147000 can read left is3000 who cannot read
53 % of total can read is 53/ 100  x 294000 =   155820 – 147000 =         8820
Total po- male- 294000-150000=144000
147000

6.125%

Ram get Rs. 100, Ramesh get 125
100/125 * 100 = 80 is 20 % less than Ramesh is the salary of Ram
