SSB- Out Door Tasks- Tips to Excel

suggestions by our Group Testing officer

PGT: Progressive Group Tasks
In the SSB selection Procedure, the Group Tests play a very important role.

To put in plain language-- the GTO looks for demonstrated Qualities of an individual.
In a team as well as an individual.

Generally the individuals are classified into three main groups:

1. Observers
2. Followers
3. Performers

Depending upon Place - Group and the Task, a potential leader emerges within the group to fill the place of a leader.

Thus a leaderless group when given a task, they put their heads together and soon find a way out to solve the problem.

A person with some initiative is often seen to assume command of the group. The person who has this initiative or the GO often stands out and emerges as a leader.

A person who may know how to do a particular job may not come forward mainly due to lack of the language the group speaks.

I have often noticed, people from Tamil Nadu and some states where Hindi is the only language spoken, are slightly shy and they are reluctant to come forward. This is because of the peer in the group. If they are put in a group which speaks the similar language and if they are in the same age group and same sex, we see a remarkable difference in their behaviour.

A GTO never looks at only one or two task to decide.
He has
Pre confirmatory series of Tasks
Confirmatory Series of Tasks
and
Final Confirmatory Series of Tasks.

This is the reason that the GTO is more aware of an individuals capacity then the individual himself.

Boldness- Initiative and Co-operation puts you ahead of others.

All the best.  Develop these qualities and you will be a winner.
